Answers
1) Do I need to run a MiST service if the car is equipped with a Cabin Air Filter? Yes. Micro-organisms grow inside the ventilation system and passenger cabin. Cabin air filters work as a barrier to block particles from the outside entering the vehicle. They do very little against the growth of micro-organisms inside the vehicle. We recommend a MiST service and a Cabin Air Filter to completely restore in-car air quality.
2) How many vehicles does a bottle of cleaning solution treat? One bottle of cleaning solution per vehicle. The machine should be filled before each treatment and emptied after the service.
3) What does the vehicle smell like after a MiST Service? Most consumers find the air to be fresh and clean after a MiST service. The vehicle is left without any odor. The cleaning solution itself has no smell and also contains an organic deodorizer that will remove most smells from the vehicle. If a customer wishes to have a scent, use a MiST scent clip
4) How does MiST compare to sprays and foams? The MiST delivery system is superior to sprays and foams. The MiST nano-droplets are 1/50th the size of an aerosol droplet and remain airborne longer. These nano-droplets travel throughout the HVAC system and passenger cabin surfaces. Aerosol droplets are much larger and fall out of the air and just don't penetrate all areas of the HVAC system. Aerosols are wet and can damage interior fabrics and surfaces. Foam treatments require a significant amount of labor and only work on areas it can reach within the HVAC system. They are ineffective at eliminating the problem in the passenger cabin.
5) Where can I direct my customers to learn more about In-Car Air Quality? You can direct them to the educational website for consumers at www.misthealthyair.org The site also includes a feature that allows consumers to find the nearest shop offering the MiST service. Once you start offering the service, we encourage you to register your MiST machine on this site (you will need the serial number from your unit). 6) Where can I purchase the MiST? UView is a manufacturer and does not sell direct to the retail market. Contact your local automotive jobber. If they do not carry the MiST or the UView product line, please contact our customer service department. 7) How does a customer know their car has been treated with MiST? Allergy sufferers and people with breathing sensitivities will know right away. Most customers will notice a cleaner fresher cabin. We recommend attaching the included mirror hanger notifying that the car has had a MiST service. Tip: Vacuum the interior, remove any garbage and wipe down the dash prior to running the MiST service.
Yes. MiST contains an organic deodorizer and will remove most smells. MiST is designed to treat mold, mildew and bacteria and improve the air quality for drivers and their passengers. To remove extreme smells, the vehicle should be thoroughly cleaned of the source of the smell.
9) How long does the service take? The MiST service takes 15 minutes.
10) What if the cigarette adapter/12V DC doesn't work? Connect directly to the battery using the optional extension cord
11) Does the Cabin Air Filter need to be removed and how do I locate the Cabin Air Filter? Yes. The interior Cabin Air Filter (CAF) needs to be removed during the service. The CAF under the hood does not need to be removed. The interior CAF can normally be found inside the glove compartment. Try this filter manufacturer website as they provide instructions for removing & replacing CAFs.
12) How often should the treatment be run and how long will it last? We recommend the MiST service be run twice a year. There are many factors that can affect the rate of mold growth especially in humid climates where the frequency may increase or in drier climates where once a year is sufficient. 13) Does the vehicle need to be running during the service? Yes. |
